Capable
Real Work. Real Evidence.
For neurodivergent young people, and the businesses that need how they think
The best way to know if someone can do the work is to see them do it. Capable gives neurodivergent young people a real business challenge, set by a real business. They work on it with AI, produce something the business can use, and walk away with proof of what they can do. Not a certificate. Not a grade. Actual work.
You Already Know More Than You Think
Think about how you learned to walk. Nobody gave you a grade. Nobody told you that you failed because you fell over. You just tried things, figured out what worked, tried again, and eventually you walked. That is how natural learning works. It is also how Capable works.
There are no right answers here. There is no way to fail. There is just you, a real problem, and the chance to show what happens when you actually get to think.
What Happens
- A real business sets you a real challenge. Something they genuinely do not know the answer to, like how to reach new customers or explain what they do better.
- You work on it with an AI tool called Claude. It is like having a knowledgeable thinking partner who never gets impatient and never judges how you phrase things.
- With practice, you get better. You experiment, learn shortcuts and better ways of getting things done, and share them with your peers.
- You produce something real. Ideas, analysis, a plan: whatever comes out of your thinking.
- That work becomes your evidence. Actual work you did for an actual business, something you can point to and say: I did that.
What We Promise You
Nobody will judge how you write. There is no wrong way to talk to Claude. Say it however feels natural.
Getting stuck is part of it. When you do not know what to ask next, that is useful information, not failure.
You will not be put on the spot. You work at your own pace. No timer, no audience, no performance.
It is completely free. No fees, no catch, no obligation to do anything afterwards.
Where Could This Go?
Some people use Capable as the start of a portfolio of real work they can show future clients or employers. Some find that the business they worked with wants to commission more work: paid projects, on their own terms, in their own time. And some just discover that they are better at this than anyone ever told them. All of those are good outcomes.
For Businesses: Proof, Not Promises
You set a business development challenge. A neurodivergent young person works with AI to tackle it. You see the output. Sometimes that is the end of the story. Often, it is the beginning of a working relationship built on something most CVs can never offer: proof and trust.
1. You Set the Brief
A real business development question you genuinely do not have the answer to.
2. They Work with AI
A facilitated session using Claude to explore, analyse and produce.
3. You See the Result
A concrete output and the thinking behind it, straight from them.
What You Get
- A fresh perspective on a business development challenge you actually have
- A documented output (analysis, ideas or a draft) that is yours to use
- Unfiltered evidence of how a sharp mind approaches your problem
- A natural opening to commission further work, if the output impresses you
- No cost, no obligation, no employment contracts
What Makes a Good Brief
The best briefs are open-ended questions your business genuinely faces. For example:
- “We struggle to explain what we do to new customers. What might we be missing?”
- “We want to grow into a new market but do not know where to start.”
- “Our proposals are not converting. What could we be doing differently?”
No prior knowledge is assumed and no right answer is expected. The brief just needs to be real, and it takes about ten minutes to set. All sessions are supported by a qualified coach and award-winning mentor who has helped thousands of businesses grow through innovation.
Why Neurodivergent People, and Why AI
Neurodivergent thinkers often bring exactly what business development needs: pattern recognition, unconventional framing, and the tenacity to sit with a problem until something shifts. What they typically lack is a conventional route to prove it.
AI is the leveller. It removes barriers of format and convention, and lets the quality of someone’s thinking come through directly. Many participants work best independently, which makes them well suited to project-based work: a defined brief and a clear output, delivered without the noise of a busy workplace getting in the way. For a small business, that is not a limitation. It is an advantage.
Part of a Pathway
Capable works alongside Indispensable, our employability programme. Capable generates the evidence. Indispensable turns that evidence into a CV, a portfolio and a story participants can tell with confidence to clients, commissioners and collaborators.
Our longer-term vision is a community of neurodivergent freelancers and independent practitioners, winning project-based work on their own terms: economically active and professionally credible, without depending on environments that were never designed with them in mind.
Capable is free to participants and free to the businesses that take part. If you are interested in supporting the programme as a funder or partner, we would welcome that conversation too.
